Culture shock — on wheels!

Students, staff and friends of the Western Washington University Anthropology Department have been documenting their bike rides throughout May as part of the Bike Everywhere Challenge, a national event that occurs annually. Teams are placed in randomly selected pools of 10, within which winners are calculated based on the number of points collected by riders.

One student, however, enjoyed a seemingly relaxing swing four stories above the main floor, just one of his many recent escapades across campus.

What dogs, you ask? Yes. I’m talking about feet. Oh, I’ve heard it all before. “You gonna charge for that?” “Put those dogs back where they belong!” And still, despite the backlash, I’d choose to roam barefoot over wearing a pair of sad old Converse any day.

30 Years of Drag at WWU

The Queer Resource Center at Western Washington University put on its 30th annual drag show in accordance with Sean Humphrey House and Lifelong, local charities dedicated to providing care and services to families living with HIV and other chronic illnesses. A portion of the ticket sales went to both organizations.
