Viking Voices: “What does campus racism look or sound like to you?”
By The Front | April 20“I haven’t directly encountered [racism], but Western has had problems, especially the first quarter of this year, and so I hear about it. It’s in the campus papers and occasionally on the news, but I haven’t directly encountered it.”
WOMEN OF WESTERN: AMY SCHUMER
By The Front | April 20I think there's nothing wrong with being plus size. Beautiful healthy women. Plus size is considered size 16 in America. I go between a size 6 and an 8. @glamourmag put me in their plus size only issue without asking or letting me know and it doesn't feel right to me. But after holding down multiple jobs, selling plasma, and managing a full class load, she’s struggling. She can’t make rent and she hasn’t been able to afford groceries in a month.
OPINION: Strong Western heritage of activism should be continued
By The Front | March 7A renaissance of student activism is sweeping this nation, with its own permutation on our own campus. The destinies of important social issues have fallen squarely into the laps of college-age Americans, and it’s up to us to see them through.
