By Brooke Wilson During a live broadcast on NCAA.com, the 2018 Division II Women’s Soccer Championship brackets were announced by the National Collegiate Athletic Association on Monday afternoon, Nov. 5. Western, who won the entire tournament two years ago, enters the competition as the third seed in the west, currently ranked 16-3-1 in division II. This will be the Vikings seventh consecutive division II championship they will compete in. An opportunity to reclaim that victorious title still remains a large possibility as the Vikings have outscored opponents 40 to 11 in the current season. Another former national champion, Sonoma State University, now ranked sixth among the western region teams, has been selected as the opponent against Western for the first round in the tournament. All the action kicks into gear on Thursday, Nov. 8 starting at 11 a.m.
