However, many Western students and Wade King Student Recreation Center fitness trainers know techniques you can use to stay fit with a packed college schedule.

A healthy way to cool down

One of my favorite drinks to make in the summer is a smoothie. It’s the perfect time of the year to cool down with a refreshing drink filled with fresh fruits. It’s simple to make and a great way to get a healthy snack in on a hot, summer day. I always like to add a little bit of protein powder into my smoothies or even greens (kale, spinach), because you can usually hide the taste with the fruits you use. With the addition of avocado or peanut butter, the smoothie will give you some of the protein you may need for your day. It’s a delicious and healthy treat.
