Playing with the boys has never been an issue for freshman Anna Stensland. Having spent the better part of her youth as the only girl on her co-ed team in the Seattle Junior Hockey Association, Stensland has no trouble competing at whatever level she is placed in.
Two goals in two minutes for junior forward Christian Rotter set the sail for the Vikings’ win over the Northwest Nazarene University Nighthawks on a cold and windy night at Robert S. Harrington Field on Thursday, Oct. 25.
The Western pep band could be heard from either end of campus as they blared away at the night sky to welcome guests to the Viking Madness basketball exhibition at Sam Carver Gymnasium on Friday, Oct. 26.

The women’s basketball team came out victorious in their season opener Monday, Oct. 22, against the Trinity Western Spartans at Sam Carver Gymnasium. The Vikings showed a dominating force against the Spartans, beating them 89-45. The game marked the start of Head Coach Carmen Dolfo’s 28th season leading the team.
Women’s basketball kicked off the season with an exhibition game against Trinity Western Spartans on Monday, Oct. 22 and came out victorious with a final score 89-55.

Western women’s rowing boasts a triumphant and decorated history with a long list of accolades, championships and achievements. The culmination of the 2017 and 2018 seasons only added to that list. The team placed second at the NCAA national championships and brought home a dominant win in the varsity-4 event.
