By: Conner Celli The college football season is starting to wind down, and the Washington State Cougars and Washington Huskies are continuing to have success. The Cougars are coming off a huge win against Pac-12 North foe the Stanford Cardinal. Cardinal running back Bryce Love had been punishing every team he had faced up to the matchup with the Cougars. The Cougars were able to contain Love, holding him to 69 yards on 16 carries. The Cougar defense has been a surprise this year compared to previous seasons and is a big reason why the team finds themselves sitting in second place in the Pac-12 North.  The Cougars are on the road to play Utah on Saturday which will be a tough matchup but will also be a homecoming for star quarterback Luke Falk. Falk will be playing in front of friends and family and I expect him to have a big game. The Huskies faced off against arch-rival on Nov. 4 Oregon and had no problem handling the Ducks defeating them by a score of 38-3. Now it will be the Huskies turn to try and contain Cardinal running back Bryce Love. The Husky defense continues to have success and should not have a problem stopping Love. This year’s Apple Cup is shaping up to be one for the ages, so get your popcorn ready. This has been one of the craziest NFL seasons that I can remember. It doesn't seem like there is one dominant team and anyone can beat anyone on any given Sunday. Injuries have also been a major storyline this season. Star players seem to be going down left and right. Unfortunately for Seahawk fans, another name will be added to the list. Richard Sherman ruptured his Achilles and will be out for the rest of the season. This is one player the Seahawks could not afford to lose and this season just became very interesting. The Seahawks have yet to find a consistent running back, which in turn is putting more responsibility on Russell Wilson. I think the Seahawks will still make the playoffs, but losing a player like Sherman will not make it very easy. The Houston Astros defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in seven games to win the World Series. This was one of the more exciting World Series in recent memory. Each game had you on the edge of your seat, and you couldn’t tell who was going to win until the final out was recorded. Both teams will enter next season as favorites to return to the fall classic, and baseball fans have already started the countdown to opening day.
