Playlist of the Week: Bon Fireside Jams

If you’re generally the person that always asks, “Hey, do you mind if I put something on?” at any social event lacking background music, what better place to put on your chill summer playlist than around a bonfire? Bon Fireside Jams is a relaxed playlist to create a mellow mood.

1. “Do It For Me” — Sweater Beats

This song’s danceable beat makes for easy listening and light background music.

2. “So Good at Being in Trouble” — Unknown Mortal Orchestra

Sometimes with music, the simpler the better.  Singer Ruban Nielson’s soulful voice and simple guitar riff completes this dreamy song that you may just want to play on repeat.

3. “House” — M&O

This song brings an eclectic brand of R&B. M&O’s hypnotizing vocals and meaningful lyrics make for a dreamy track.

4. “Realize” — Benny Sings

This song’s relaxed, hypnotic sound is a combination of electronic and pop beats with simple vocals.

5. “Waiting in Vain” — Bob Marley

Bob Marley’s music can complement just about any occasion, especially a bonfire with friends on a warm summer night.

6. “Cute” — D.R.A.M.

The happy vibes of this song make for a great addition to any summer soundtrack. D.R.A.M. may inspire you to tell your crush you’ve been low-key scoping their Instagram.

7. “Lonely” — Mean Lady

This song starts out soft and slow with an ethereal intro, and quickly builds into its dance-worthy, upbeat tempo.

8. “Without” — Sampha

A combination of electronic and soul, layered with warm vocals and a progressive beat.

9. “Luna Lovers” — Las Cafeteras

Various Afro-Mexican rhythms and storytelling weave together to create this layered love song.

10. “The Wonder Years” — The O’My’s ft. Chance the Rapper & Nico Segal

The O’My’s have a uniquely bluesy hip-hop sound. Chance the Rapper’s feature completes this track about the lessons of growing up.

11. “Drew Barrymore” — SZA

This melodramatic song off of SZA’s new album, Ctrl, has an R&B sound and soft vocals with a hip-hop flow.
