Man and the Mascara: Cosmetic routines

I have given many tips and tricks about cosmetics through Man and the Mascara. This week I want to be a little more interactive with the students at Western. I asked students what their morning routines are. Here’s what they said:

What is your cosmetic routine?

“I start each morning by washing my face and applying a thicker moisturizer. I then start my makeup routine by applying my concealer and foundation from Clinique, after that I use a powder foundation and blush from Almay. If I feel like doing my eye makeup, I will start by applying eye shadow and eye liner from Maybelline. Next I use a brow gel on my eye brows from Benefit, followed by mascara from Benefit. Lastly I like to finish my look with a lip stick or a lip stain, which I either get from Clinique, Cover Girl or Maybelline. This usually takes 20 to 30 minutes.”

What is your cosmetic routine?

“I wash my face every morning and evening with a mild cleanser from Clinique. Occasionally I follow cleansing with toner from Clinique, I’ll do this 3 to 4 times a week, and moisturize with my moisturizer that is also from Clinique. In the evenings I use a specific evening moisturizer, as well as an eye cream, also a thicker moisturizer to protect delicate eye tissue, and chapstick. I don’t typically wear a lot of makeup, but I will never leave the house without at least under eye concealer. Usually I will also dab on a bit of crème blush followed by an all over swoop of pressed powder bronzer to achieve that Beyoncé glow. If I feel like it, I’ll add a light blush-colored eyeshadow, highlight my brow bone and inner corners of my eye with a lighter sandy white-ish color then add mascara. It’s really simple and quick and I look less like a walking corpse. This usually takes me about 10 to 15 minutes.”

What is your cosmetic routine?

“I start out by taking a shower, then I wait 13 to 20 minutes. After that I gel my hair with Crew pomade my process includes putting gel in my hands like soap and gel the sides of my hair and spike up the front until I’m satisfied with the way it looks.”

As you can see there are many different routines here at Western, boys and girls everyone has a unique look. People do what works for them and that’s alright. These are just a practices of a few students here at Western, hopefully they have helped.
