Head Coach Diane Flick-Williams said that at the beginning of the women’s volleyball season she circled the NCAA West Regional Division II Championship Tournament on her calendar. Then, after going 0-3 to start the season, she buried that calendar and never looked at it again.

Western women’s volleyball team clinched the number one seat in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference with a powerful win on Thursday night, Nov. 1. The win over Western Oregon University continued the Vikings’ winning streak, elevating them to near perfection with 22 straight wins this season.
Two goals in two minutes for junior forward Christian Rotter set the sail for the Vikings’ win over the Northwest Nazarene University Nighthawks on a cold and windy night at Robert S. Harrington Field on Thursday, Oct. 25.

The women’s basketball team came out victorious in their season opener Monday, Oct. 22, against the Trinity Western Spartans at Sam Carver Gymnasium. The Vikings showed a dominating force against the Spartans, beating them 89-45. The game marked the start of Head Coach Carmen Dolfo’s 28th season leading the team.
Western women’s rowing boasts a triumphant and decorated history with a long list of accolades, championships and achievements. The culmination of the 2017 and 2018 seasons only added to that list. The team placed second at the NCAA national championships and brought home a dominant win in the varsity-4 event.
In sports, the box score seldom tells the whole story. However, the stats from the 2-0 women’s soccer win on Saturday, Oct. 20, clearly exhibited that the Western Oregon University Wolves were outplayed by the Vikings in almost every measurable aspect.
