Emergency shelters fight overflow
By Noah Harper | November 14An average winter low temperature in Bellingham is around 30 degrees, the prime temperature for hypothermia. According to the National Weather Service, hypothermia is possible even at temperatures between 30 and 50 degrees. Hypothermia occurs due to “prolonged exposure to very cold temperatures. When exposed to cold temperatures, your body begins to lose heat faster than it is produced,” according to the CDC website.
