Blood, sweat and ink

Vibrant artwork covers the walls of the artist’s domain. Sketches of tattoo designs are haphazardly pinned to any surface that will hold them. The customer, a canvas for their artist, sits and begins to uncover the space where blood will rise and ink will flow.  There, from the intermixing of blood, ink and steel, an art emerges worthy of permanence.

There’s a feeling one gets when riding the fine line between what they shouldn’t be doing and what they should. The fear-inspired pit that pulls someone back from adventure can ironically fuel the passion that drives them. The Wells brothers are not keen on backing down from that gamble, and sometimes it costs them.

When in Detroit

There’s an old joke among people who live in Detroit that a gallon of gasoline is cheaper than a movie ticket. The idea is that you’d essentially buy the gasoline, light your house on fire and watch it burn. It’s cheaper to destroy everything you have and leave the city than to stay.
