Cases of voyeurism continue on north campus

By Coco Chiu

On Sunday morning at 3:12 a.m., a Western Alert was sent out regarding a report of lewd conduct that had occurred at 2 a.m.

In the email detailing the incident, the man was reported to have been masturbating outside a window of a residence near 900 N. Garden St.

The alert described the suspect as a white male, 25 years old, around 6 feet tall and was last seen wearing a black or dark color hoodie and jeans.

Bellingham Police Sergeant Dennis James said it is unknown whether the incident is related to any cases of lewd conduct that have happened on or off campus recently. The sketch of the suspect will be published soon by the Bellingham Police Department, he said.

“Always be careful, it is best to walk in pairs at night. It’s better to be handy,” James said. “Keep your cell phone in your hand while walking, in case something happens, you can call for help.”

The Bellingham Police Department is still searching for the suspect.

If anyone has information on the case, it is recommended to call the Bellingham Police Department at 360-778-8700.
