Robbery at bus stop outside Buchanan Towers

Two women were robbed at the bus stop outside Buchanan Towers residence hall off of Bill McDonald Parkway around 1 a.m. on April 17. This is the second robbery at the bus stop in a week.

The two women were approached by a man while they were checking the bus schedule on one woman’s iPhone. The man asked when the next bus was scheduled to arrive and grabbed the phone after the woman responded.

The two women have been identified as Western students, Cocke said.

University and city police, as well as a K-9 unit, responded to incident and searched the area. The suspect has not be apprehended.
