Brenna’s Take on the News: Hillary Clinton and a dilapidated Subway

Today’s trending topics, Oct. 14:

Democratic Debate

Lots of news outlets have asked the question “who won?” with regards to the candidates, but instead I’m going to ask “who lost?” with regards to coverage of the debate. That goes to CNN.

Despite Sanders being undoubtedly declared the most talked about candidate on Facebook and Twitter, CNN somehow frames literally every article around Clinton, making the blogs, editorials and objective articles indiscernible.

It’s not a secret that news outlets admittedly have political bias—and indeed, Clinton did do quite well and deserves the coverage she has. But I feel like CNN could at least have tried to give Sanders more credit than just being her sidekick:

But my favorite example of unapologetic bias was the video compilation, Best of Hillary Clinton from the #DemDebate, where they actually feature Sander’s comment about the American people being sick Clinton’s “damn emails” as a Clinton moment.

“Woman believed to be on spice disrobes, trashes East Anchorage Subway”

A woman in East Anchorage, Alaska graced the internet today with all of the reasons why drugs are bad for you when she stripped naked and destroyed a Subway around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13.

The woman, who is believed to have been under the influence of a drug called spice somehow managed to cause around $20,000 in damages merely with her bare hands and a fire extinguisher to this unassuming Subway, KTVA reports.

Luckily no one was injured in the incident. Needless to say, I think the D.A.R.E program has its new poster child.
