Design student Zach Becker represents Western after being declared a winner in the 2015 International Adobe Design Achievement Awards competition. Becker won the Digital Publishing category in the Interactive Experience Media Segment with his poster and interactive article for the iPad, titled Isolation, showcasing the narrative of the International Space Station’s launch and docking procedures. Becker, as of Oct. 4, is in Los Angeles, Calif. attending the ADAA conference where Adobe will announce the grand-prize winners. The ADAA is a higher-education student competition that challenges students around the world to submit their creative projects using Adobe software in various categories for the chance to win software, mentorship and other prizes according to the ADAA website. Becker wrote in his submission to the project showcase website how he was inspired by space, and that the ultimate goal of this experience is to inspire a sense of awe and in turn to donate to NASA to fuel further research and space exploration.
