By Zach Slagle   Western men’s basketball got an early taste of defeat Saturday, Nov. 11, falling 80-76 to the Hawai’i-Hilo Vulcans. The Vulcans' senior backcourt combined for 51 of the team’s 80 points, led by Ryley Callaghan who connected on six three-pointers on his way to a game-high 31 points. His fellow guard Trey Ingram racked up 20 points including a first-half buzzer beater from beyond half court that instilled the momentum they needed to come back in the second half.   Viking sophomore Daulton Hommes finished with 22 points and nine rebounds in the team’s final game of the Pac West/Great Northwest Athletic Conference Challenge. Deandre Dickson provided a double-double with his 19 points and 11 rebounds. The Vikings suffered two charges late in the game which afforded more opportunities to take the lead and waste the clock for Hawai’i-Hilo to get its first win of the season.
