One of my favorite drinks to make in the summer is a smoothie. It’s the perfect time of the year to cool down with a refreshing drink filled with fresh fruits. It’s simple to make and a great way to get a healthy snack in on a hot, summer day. I always like to add a little bit of protein powder into my smoothies or even greens (kale, spinach), because you can usually hide the taste with the fruits you use. With the addition of avocado or peanut butter, the smoothie will give you some of the protein you may need for your day. It’s a delicious and healthy treat.

Ingredients:

  • 1 handful raspberries
  • 1 mango
  • 1 banana
  • ½ avocado
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter
  • Coconut chips

Put all the ingredients together in your blender as well as a cup of water to mix everything smoothly. Once it is all mixed, add about five ice cubes to thicken up your smoothie and make it colder. Once it’s at the thickness you desire, add coconut chips on top.

Another great addition to smoothies is Greek yogurt which adds a smooth texture.
