Pacific Northwest electronic dance music lovers, such as myself, frantically refreshed their notifications, excited over the official lineup announcement for the Paradiso Music Festival. Seattle music-event based company, United State of Consciousness, ensured fans were going to be in for a treat this summer. After a month-long delay due to contract issues, USC delivered a star-studded lineup for their biggest festival at the Gorge Amphitheater. If you are a bass or trap fan, this lineup is calling your name.   The atmosphere and vibes of music festivals are worth every dollar I spend. I love watching the whole light and visual production each performer brings to their unique sets, while also meeting new people. There are so many great artists on the lineup but I’m excited to see Porter Robinson, Getter, and Yellow Claw!

For the trap fans:

Boombox Cartel: This duo is fresh from their new EP and hungry to play their new bass-heavy tracks. Boombox Cartel knows how to throw a party with their consistent track selection. I saw them in Vancouver, B.C. recently and they threw down a phenomenal set in a nightclub. Their song, Jefe, was the most played song at Ultra Miami Festival 2017. Yellow Claw: Yellow Claw is a heavy trap producer duo from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, who recently released their second studio album. The group is extremely energetic during their live sets and had me dancing the whole time the last time I saw them! This will be the second time the group has performed in the Pacific Northwest this year.   Other notable names: Baauer, Keys N Krates, Troyboi, Ookay

For the dubstep & bass fans:

Zomboy: This producer from the United Kingdom is notorious for creating hard-hitting, gritty sounds. His 2016 track, Like A B**ch, was undoubtedly one of the most played festival tracks last year. I might need to rest my neck after head banging to Zomboy at Paradiso this year. Getter: This producer creates some of the grimiest songs out of anyone on this list. Getter has received praise for being unique and creating his own creative melodies and gritty ripping synths. Getter’s latest surge in popularity for being the “Suh dude” meme will certainly draw a big crowd to his stage like myself. Other notable names: Flux Pavilion b2b Doctor P, Snails, Slander, Barely Alive, Seven Lions

Fan Favorites:

Porter Robinson: The last time Porter was in the Pacific Northwest, he tore the house down and left fans with an unbelievable show with Madeon as part of the “Shelter”  tour. This producer recently performed at Coachella on the main stage in front of thousands. I hope Robinson will receive the sunset time slot to match his dreamy performance. I’ll probably cry a little bit too. Marshmello: Hidden under helmet with lights, this producer has risen to the top tier of mainstream DJs in the electronic music industry. His helmet is widely recognized and his single, “Alone,” reached Billboard Hot 100 this year. Although Marshmello produces a lot of cute future bass sounds, expect him to throw down an energetic set to get the crowd dancing. Paradiso 2017 will take place June 23 through 24 at the Gorge Amphitheater. Make sure you bring your best dancing shoes and plenty of water bottles because the festival will feature 65 DJs and producers throughout the two days. Tickets and more information can be found on their website and Facebook event page. Tickets are at 80 percent sold out!
