Cross country

Last Result: Men finished fourth in 10,000 meter race at WWU Classic Saturday, Oct. 8.

Last Result: Women finished seventh in 6,000 meter race.

Next up: GNAC championships Saturday, Oct. 22, 10 a.m. at East Lake Padden Park.

Men's soccer

Last result: 1-1 draw at Simon Fraser University.

Overall record: 4-4-4.

Standing: Fifth in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.

Next Game: Saint Martin’s University Thursday Oct. 20, at 7 p.m. at Harrington Field.

Western men’s soccer tied third ranked Simon Fraser after two overtime periods Saturday, Oct. 15. This was the team's fifth overtime game of the season. Senior Brady Ulen scored Western’s only goal off a penalty kick.

Women's soccer

Last result: 1-0 win at Concordia University.

Overall record: 13-0-1.

Standing: First in the GNAC and ranked number one nationally.

Next game: Seattle Pacific University at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, in Seattle.

After protecting its number one national ranking, the Western women's team will play Seattle Pacific–who is ranked third in the GNAC– and Central Washington University who is second.   

Volleyball

Last result: 3-2 win at Seattle Pacific.

Overall record: 12-6.

Standing: Second in the GNAC.

Next game: University of Alaska Fairbanks Thursday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m. in Fairbanks, Alaska.

The team maintained second place in the GNAC with a win over Seattle Pacific. Kayleigh Harper had a record high 22 kills. Abby Phelps recorded a career-high 31 digs. 

Men’s golf

Last Result: Finished fifth of 16 teams after the first day of the Otter Fall Invitational in Seaside, California. The team finishes the tournament with 18 holes Tuesday, Oct. 18.

Next up: GNAC championships will be held April 24-25, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Women’s golf

Last Result: Finished eighth of nine teams after the first day of the Sonoma State Invitational in Rohnert Park, CA. They finish the tournament with 18 holes Tuesday, Oct. 18.

Next up: Dennis Rose Intercollegiate tournament Oct. 24-25, in Waikoloa , Hawaii.
