The Woods Coffee’s Boulevard Park location closed to the public on Monday, Feb. 22 to help improve customer foot traffic, also demolishing the conference room to create more indoor seating. Wes Herman, founder of The Woods Coffee, said he saw an opportunity to enhance seating capacity. “It’s not just for summer traffic,” Herman said. “It’s for an ability to service our guests in a better way, as well as expand our seating capacity and make it an overall better experience for everyone who goes to the park.” Shilowe Ensminger said she is a frequent customer at The Woods Coffee’s Boulevard Park location, and that it often gets pretty crowded in the shop. “My husband is in a scooter so it’s really hard for us to get in and out of here,” Ensminger said. “Sometimes we’ve had to turn around and leave because there’s too many people.” Tara Almassy said that although traffic hasn’t affected her, it does get busy and she has to bypass the traffic. Seating has not been a problem overall. Herman said that busy days come from good weather, which means that people take their coffee outside. The outdoor seating will not see a change. “The expanded seating is primarily utilized by students,” Herman said. “The students are the ones that we want to provide more space for, for studying and other activities.” The Woods Coffee’s Boulevard Park café will reopen on Thursday, March 3 and will be serving hot, 99 cent 12-ounce drinks from 6:30 a.m. to noon, according to their facebook page.
