This is a recipe I recently tried for the first time over winter break and I loved it so much that I decided to make it again recently when I got back to school.  I already had all the ingredients for the topping, so I only spent about $5 for the apples and frozen cranberries. You’ll need: Filling

  • 3 apples (the recipe I followed recommended Golden Delicious apples, but I used Gala apples)
  • Fresh or frozen cranberries
  • ½ cup of sugar
Topping
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup of butter cut into smaller pieces
You’ll also need cooking spray

Step 1: Mix the topping: flour, sugar, cinnamon, butter and salt in a bowl. Step 2: In a baking dish mix together the filling: apples, cranberries, and sugar. Step 3: Sprinkle the topping on top of the fruit in the baking dish. Step 4: Heat the oven to 350 degrees and bake for one hour, or until the top is golden and bubbling.   You may want to top it with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream since this is a really sweet dessert. You could even try it with other fruits, such as raspberries or blueberries if you don’t like cranberries. Enjoy!
