The Front Book Club: Red Hot Chili Peppers Autobiography

This week’s post of the Front Book Club is spicing it up with a soundtrack. Go ahead and tune your ears into YouTube and listen to some of the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ greatest hits, because today’s book is all about the music. 1023151054a-2 This week’s book was suggested by Zach Beck, a junior studying business management. It is an autobiography by Anthony Kiedis, the lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. His book, Scar Tissue, named after a song, explores his life as a rock star. “It’s all about how the Red Hot Chili Peppers came to be and how his life experiences reflected in their music,” Beck said. The book explores how Kiedis met the other band members and his relationships with everyone in the band, Beck said. Scar TissueKiedis was really close friends with everyone in the band, Beck said, so they play big roles in his life. “It’s about how he relates over to [the band],” Beck said. Beck’s favorite part of the book is reading about all of Kiedis’ crazy life experiences, he said. “It’s all true, supposedly,” Beck said. “A lot of the stuff he did is like ‘wow how are you still alive’ status.” If you’re a fan of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, music in general, or if you’re curious about the life of a rock star, you should check out this book, he said.
