Get to Know Western: Dalaney Wunderlich

Dalaney Wunderlich, 21, marketing major Q: Why did you pick Western? A: I picked Western mainly because my older sister went here. I only applied to Western and [University of Washington], and I only applied to UW because I wanted to see if I got in. But ultimately I wanted to go to Western because of my sister. Q: What’s your favorite thing about Western? A: My favorite thing about Western so far is probably living with the roommates I have now, just because they’re so great and we never get in fights or anything. That usually doesn’t happen when there’s a house of five girls. Q: What has been you favorite class at Western? A: I really liked my digital marketing class. The professor is really good and helps you with real life and job experience unlike a lot of other classes I’ve taken. Q: What do you like to do for fun in Bellingham? A:  I really like to go on hikes. That’s kind of a typical answer, but I really like the hikes around here. Q: What is your best piece of advice for other students? A: Try to find a major that you will actually enjoy working in once you graduate. Q: What is your favorite hike that you’ve ever done? A: My favorite hike would probably have to be Oyster Dome. ... It has a really good view. It’s very tiring but it’s worth it. Q: What is one hike that you really want to do but haven’t yet? A: I really want to go down to the Lake Stevens hikes. There’s a hike called Lake Serene there that I really want to go do, but I’m waiting for it to get warmer because it gets snowy there. Q: If you weren’t a student, what would you be doing? A: I would probably get my personal training certificate. Correction: In a previous version of this article, The Western Front misstated Dalaney Wunderlich's name.
